OptimiDoc Server 26.08 is the release the last few months have been building towards. Driverless printing is now built into the product. It runs on the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) instead of vendor-specific drivers, and it asks each device what it can do in real time. There are no driver packages to build, test or push to workstations. Server customers get faster rollouts, fewer driver-related support tickets, and an on-premise environment that’s ready for Microsoft’s move to a driverless Windows print stack.
01
Driverless printing - Ready for Windows Protected Prtint
Microsoft is moving Windows toward a driverless print stack, and 26.08 is ready for it. Nothing to package, deploy, patch or troubleshoot — on any workstation, in any environment.
Rollouts that don't stall on driver testing, and a support queue that stops filling up with driver tickets.
02
Quotas - finally
Set print limits per user, device, department or group, and stop customers paying for pages nobody needed.
One of the most requested items on your list — cost control becomes a number you can put in a proposal, and it unlocks tenders that list quota management as a hard requirement.
03
New Administrator Portal
A faster, cleaner place to manage all of it — everything an administrator touches day to day is where you'd expect it.
Shorter handovers, less training per deployment, fewer “where do I click” calls after go-live.
04
Device Status Dashboard
One screen, whole fleet, current state — see every device before users start calling.
It moves the conversation from reactive firefighting to proactive service, which is the story behind a managed service contract.
05
Multilevel parameters
Parameters can now be organised into a tree — folders and logical levels instead of one flat list. Country → site → cost centre, or client → matter → document type.
The workflows you used to talk customers out of are now in scope.
06
Database and document encryption
The OptimiDoc database and print documents are now encrypted — scanned and printed content protected at rest, and the metadata around it too.
This is the answer to the security questionnaire that shows up late in every enterprise deal.

Many other improvements
The new version brings many further improvements that make life easier for customers — and for you, our partners.
